Catherine B. Robinette

Catherine Bundy Robinette, 87, of Cedar Bluff died Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2008, at a local retirement home following a lengthy illness. Funeral service was held Saturday, Oct. 11, at 2 p.m. at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands with the Rev. Jackie Strickler officiating. Interment was in Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill. She was born in Russell County, daughter of the late Arch Lee and Katherine Dotson Bundy. She was a full-time homemaker, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a member of the Cedar Bluff United Methodist Church and a lifelong resident of the area. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 66 years, Samuel Gilbert Robinette. Survivors include a daughter, Joyce Cox of Cedar Bluff; three sons and daughters-in-law, Daniel and Betty Robinette of Wytheville, Charles and Norma Robinette of Richlands, Carlton and Judy Robinette of Christiansburg; a brother, James Bundy of Clearwater, Fla.; six grandchildren, Tim Bartley, Daniel Robinette, Brian Robinette, Lisa Yablonski, Randall Robinette and Olivia Robinette; two stepgrandchildren, Todd Short and Gregory Short; 10 great-grandchildren; and two stepgreat-granddaughters.
