Nell Hagy

Mrs. Nell Price Hagy, 97, a lifelong resident of Washington County passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2008, in Johnston Memorial Hospital. She was born March 18, 1911, in Washington County, the daughter of late John Richard and Annie Lee Maiden Price. Her life was filled with happiness, joy, taking care of her family and caring for others.  She was a member of Shady Grove United Methodist Church in Abingdon. She was dedicated to her church, neighbors and in her later years to the many friends she took to Senior Citizens, the grocery store and shopping. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Joe Franklin Hagy; her grandson, Timothy Joe Remine; and her daughter-in-law, Carrie Fields Hagy. Survivors include her sons, Jack K. Hagy of Bristol; Samuel H. Hagy and wife, Ann, of Kingsport, James F. Hagy and wife, Shirley, of Abingdon and Michael L. Hagy and wife, Fran, of Abingdon; daughters Betty H. Stone and husband, Bruce, of Abingdon and Margaret H. Remine and husband, Wayne, of Abingdon; one sister, Doris Gray of Abingdon; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mrs. Nell Price Hagy were conducted Oct. 17 in Frost Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jerry Wade and Pastor Cecil Sturgill officiating. Graveside services were conducted Oct. 18 in Knollkreg Memorial Park.  Active pallbearers were Phil McCall, John W. Price, Wayne Price, Tommy Hagy, Jeff Hagy, Luther Bussey, Bo Boyd and Danny Price.  Honorary pallbearers were Ralph Price and Howard Price.
