Eula J. Greer

Eula J. Greer, 49, of Rural Retreat died Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2008, at her residence. Funeral service was held Thursday, Oct. 23, at 8 p.m. at the Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Derek Cowan officiating. A graveside service was held Friday, Oct. 24, at 3 p.m. at the Greer Family Cemetery in Rural Retreat. She was born June 30, 1959, in Galax. She is survived by her husband, Perry B. Greer Jr. of Rural Retreat; son, Josh Greer of the home; daughter, Doddie Greer of the home; parents, J.L. and Winnie Dowell Halsey of Speedwell; three brothers and sisters-in-law, John and Sherry Halsey of Atkins, Kenneth and Sandy Halsey of Rural Retreat, Dale and Elaine Halsey of Wytheville; and several nieces and nephews. Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home in Independence was in charge of the arrangements.
