Marshall Fiorini Obituary

Marshall Edward Fiorini, 91, of Wytheville, formerly of Latrobe, Pa., died Saturday, Oct. 25, 2008, in Galax. A graveside service will be held Friday, Oct. 31, at 10:30 a.m. at the Unity Cemetery in Latrobe, Pa. He was born Jan. 15, 1917, in Loyalhanna, Pa., son of the late Isaac and Enes Boscoli Fiorini. He was the last of his four brothers and one sister. He was preceded in death by his wife, Florence Louise Tranquilla Fiorini; four brothers, Billy Fiorini, Chester Fiorini, Bert Fiorini and James Fiorini; and a sister, Marie Voral. He was raised in Loyalhanna, Pa., but lived in Latrobe, Pa., for his married life. He was a Cub Scout leader and enjoyed being active. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church for many years then transferred his membership to the Latrobe United Methodist Church. As a young man, he helped deliver ice and coal for the family business. He then worked for Stupakoff for several years before being hired by Federal Laboratories in Saltsburg, Pa. He was initially a machinist but soon advanced to being a tool and die maker. He then became the shop supervisor over the hose clamp division. He remained at Federal Laboratories for 37 years until his retirement. After retirement, he enjoyed working in his woodshop and doing general maintenance on his home. He especially liked making small things such as small vehicles and bird houses. He moved to Wytheville in 2003 to live with his son and. His smile and love for life will be missed by many people. He was a member of the Loyalhanna Lodge 275, Free and Accepted Masons of Latrobe, Pa., 35 Degree Shriner and Tallcedars of Lebanon for over 50 years. Survivors include two daughters and their husbands, Marsha and Charles Landsbaugh, Tina and Greg Bruns, all of Pittsburgh, Pa., son and his wife, Kevin and Linda Fiorini of Galax; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Wednesday, Oct. 29, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Grubb Funeral Home and Thursday, Oct. 30, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lapotich Funeral Home in Latrobe, Pa. Grubb Funeral Home in Wytheville is in charge of the arrangements.
