Larry Douglas Blankenship

Larry Douglas Blankenship, age 53 of Mavisdale, Va., passed away Sun., Oct. 26, 2008 in a Bristol, Tenn., hospital. Born July 11, 1955 in Buchanan County, Va., he was the son of the late Cuba and Hazel Phillips Blankenship. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Sandra Hess Blankenship; one son, Charles Lester and wife, Jackie, of Lebanon, Tenn.; two brothers, Neal Blankenship and wife, Gaye, of Oakwood and J.P. Blankenship and wife, Ann, of Drill; one sister, Phyllis Street and husband, Duke, of Rowe; mother and father-in-law, Bobby and Shirley Norton of Lebanon, Tenn.; brother-in-law, Ricky Norton and wife, Linda, of Watertown, Tenn.; two sisters-in-law, Nancy Ferrell and husband, Mike, of Lebanon, Tenn., and Barbara Biondollilo of Wicklife, Ohio; seven nephews; two nieces; special niece, Susie Street of Rowe, Va.; special friend, Hazel Blankenship of Swords Creek; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 p.m. Fri., Oct. 31, 2008 at Buchanan Funeral Service Chapel at Keen Mountain, Va., with Rev. Ancil Childress and Rev. Michael Justice officiating. Burial followed in the Blankenship Cemetery at Page, Va. Family and friends served as pallbearers. The family received friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Oct. 29 and 30 with a service at 7 p.m. at Buchanan Funeral Service at Keen Mountain, Va.
