Alma Virgie Osborne Nichols

Alma Virgie Osborne Nichols, 90, of Wytheville, formerly of Mountain City, Tenn., died Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2008. Funeral service will be held Saturday, Nov. 8, at 2 p.m. at Henson Funeral Home with the Rev. Tom Ballard officiating. Interment will be in the Phillippi Cemetery. She was preceded in death by her parents, Presley and Kate Osborne; and her husband, Ray Nichols. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, James W. "Jim" and Mary Nichols of Wytheville; grandson, James Ray Nichols of Roanoke; granddaughter, Elizabeth Nichols of Roanoke; and two sisters and brothers-in-law, Margaret and Joel Icenhour of Mountain City, Tenn., and Rosa Lee Shores of Chilhowie. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Wythe County Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 389, Wytheville, VA 24382; or St. Paul United Methodist Church, 330 Church St., Wytheville, VA 24382. Grubb Funeral Home in Wytheville is in charge of the arrangements.
