Bernice V. Edwards

Bernice V. Edwards, of Tazewell, Va., died Sun., Nov. 2, 2008 at Frye Regional Medical Center after a brief illness. She was born in Hamtramck, Mich., to the late Joseph and Josephine Wezgraj Wojtowicz. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Franklin Edwards; a daughter, Betty Sue Edwards; and one brother, Frank Wojtowicz. She attended Trinity Presbyterian Church and retired from Fincastle Motor Inn. She is survived by a daughter, Patricia Wood and her husband Bob of Hickory; three grandsons, Mark Wood and wife Michele, Tony Wood and wife Lanie and Eric Wood, all of Hickory; three great grandchildren, Rachel, Jackson and Landen. A graveside service was officiated by Rev. Henry Johnson on Nov. 5 at Maplewood Cemetery in Tazewell, Va. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Catawba Co., P.O. Box 63, Hickory, N.C. 28603. Hickory Funeral Home, 1031 11th Ave. Blvd. SE, was in charge of arrangements.
