Kristi Anne Garrison Hoover, 53, of Bartow, Fla., died Friday, Nov. 7, 2008, at her home. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Nov. 22, at 1 p.m. at the Barnett Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Aubrey Whitlow officiating. Interment will be in the Odd Fellows Cemetery. She was preceded in death by her mother, Barbara Garrison; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Kent Sutphin; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Elsie Sam Garrison; a daughter, Ashley; and son, Matthew. Survivors include a son, Jason Rister of Connecticut; two daughters and sons-in-law, Amanda and Carlo Silva of Tampa, Fla., Melody and Joe Anderson of Wytheville; four grandchildren, Taylor Silva and Katelyn Silva, both of Tampa, Fla., Jayden Anderson and Peyton Anderson, both of Wytheville; parents, Sam and Dody Garrison of Marble Falls, Texas; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Kathy and Mark Anderson of Wytheville, Becky Gustafon and Julie Dube, both of Austin, Texas; two brothers, Michael Garrison of Wytheville and Jesse Garrison of Tucson, Arizona; several nieces and nephews; two great-nephews; special aunt and uncle, Norma and Bill Garrison of Steubenville, Ohio; and several cousins. The family will receive friends Saturday, Nov. 22, from noon until 1 p.m. (service time) at the Barnett Funeral Home. Barnett Funeral Home in Wytheville is in charge of the arrangements.
