Lois "Cookie" Copenhaver

Lois "Cookie" Copenhaver died peacefully at her home in Marion on Friday, Nov. 28, 2008. She was preceded in death by her husband, BGen. J.R. Copenhaver, and son, John R. Copenhaver. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas E. and Rita Copenhaver of Marion and Peter and Susan Copenhaver of Ocean Pines, Md.; three grandsons, Thomas G. and J. Robert Copenhaver of Ocean Pines, Md., and John Benson Copenhaver of McKinney, Texas; one brother, George Cook of Portland, Texas; and loving caregivers, Margaret Minton, Lorraine Jackson and Elaine Lee. Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Smyth-Bland Regional Library, 118 South Sheffey Street, Marion, VA 24354.
