Mary Virginia Etter

Mary Virginia Etter, age 88 of Tazewell, Va., died Sun., Jan. 11, 2009 at Golden Age Retirement Home at Claypool Hill, Va. Born Aug. 10, 1920 at Gratton, Va., she was a daughter of the late Allen Meek Etter and Frances Catherine Dorsey Etter. In addition to her parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers, Robert Etter, Crockett (John) Etter, Eugene Etter, Elmer Etter, Glen Etter, George Etter, and an infant sister, Catherine Etter. Her final days were made more comfortable by the compassionate care of the staff of Golden Age Retirement Home and Legacy Hospice. Survivors include two brothers, Varney Etter and wife, Louise, of Tazewell, Va. and Garland Etter of Richlands, Va., along with several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Wed., Jan. 14, 2009 at Mount Olivet Cemetery in the Gratton community of Tazewell, Va., with the Rev. Rodney Lawson officiating. Those planning to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at Peery & St.Clair Funeral Home in Tazewell, Va., by 9:30 a.m. Wednesday morning. Peery & St.Clair Funeral Home of Tazewell, Va., is serving the Etter family.
