Jerry Lee Smith

Jerry Lee Smith, age 69 of Spencer, passed away Thurs., Jan. 22, 2009, at his home. He was born on March 16, 1939 in Richlands, Va. Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his wife, Corrine Smith, and his father, Clarence "Bill" Smith. He was retired from Duke Power. Mr. Smith is survived by two sons, Dennis Jackson of Claudville and Mike Jackson of Richlands; two daughters, Myrtle Monk of Richlands and Dottie Owens of Ridgeway; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren; and his mother, Lola Compton Smith of Ridgeway. Funeral services for Mr. Smith were held Sat. evening, Jan. 24, at 7:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Rev. Ed Hartman officiating. The family received friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial was private. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to PAWS (Patrick Animal Welfare Society), P.O.
