To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

In times like these we look for answers and they aren't always there. Sometimes there is no answer as to why things like this happen, but I am deeply touched and send my deepest sympathies to the family of Earl Morphew, Jr. I did not know Earl, but as a fellow firefighter with a similar history, reading about his life and accomplishments brings joy to my heart that he did for mankind the best that he could do! I know that God has blessed him for He gave him talents that few others have in this world and Earl put them to good use in his short time here. May God Bless the Morphew family and comfort them and the communities that he served for his caring, dedication, and talents are lost, but his acts of goodness, caring for his fellow man & community, teaching, and helping will carry on forever!

There are many people walking around today because of Earl. He touched many lives because of his profession, and saved many of them because of his passion. My heart and prayers go out to the family.

Mrs. Morphew and daughter,
You don't know me, but I knew Earl well. I think it's important for you to know that when we were taking the critical care class in Bristol together, even though the class was stressful, he wanted to talk about his wife and daughter, telling me how proud he was of his daughter's college graduation. His love for his family was obvious. Your family is in my prayers, and please remember our Lord's promise that we can't even imagine how wonderful heaven is, and know that someday we'll all be together again. Also, I pray that God will bless and comfort you.

Terri and Mallory,
While no one can truly know the pain and sorrow your hearts and souls carry, may the last few days be a testimony of the effect Earl's life had on so many.Rick Warren wrote" God wants us to practice on earth what we will do forever in eternity". So can you imagine what God has planned for Earl!
We as Christians KNOW we all will be together again some day and until that time we need as Christians to get as many people as we can to go the Heaven with us. And maybe as tragic of a lost you may feel, if Earl's life and death can be a witness what is to come, maybe some of this will make some kind of sense. The time you had with Earl was short and not long enough, but Eternity is FOREVER and may that be of some comfort during this most difficult time.
Many thoughts and prayers are with you.

Dearest Family, Words can not express my deep heartfelt sorrow of the untimely passing of Earl. I wish that I could have been there, but I was lifting you up in prayer as I pondered the memories I shared as a fellow firefighter. May God continue to hold you in His Loving Care.
Joy Will Cometh in the Morning.

Our family was saddened to hear of the tragic lost of Earl. My sons, Jamie and Stephen, were in the band with Mallory and they and my husband got to know him. We liked to watch him in the bagpipes and drum group as they marched in the parades. He was a good man and I know he will be missed by many people who knew him. Terri and Mallory, our prayers are with you.
