I read this and I hoped it was not the Rick French that I knew and worked with for 22 years, but then I realized it was him. We worked together in Horsepen and in Bluefield, VA until I was laid off in 1992. He was the one who told me I better get prepared in case Consol did lay me off. I always appreciated him for this. He was such a good man and a good boss.
Jeannie, Rick did talk about you and the kids a lot. He was a proud family man. It was good that we could share stories about our kids.
I am so sorry that this tragedy happened and I, myself, am still in shock about it. Even though I haven't had any contact with him and others from the Safety Department of Consol, I still regard all my former supervisors and coworkers as special friends and they are close to my heart.
I offer my deepest sympathy to all of you for the loss of Rick and Adam. May God give you the strength and comfort to go through this. He will help you and your family in the days ahead.
