Maxie Marie Dye Lowe, age 77 of Richlands, Va., went to be with the Lord Sat., Feb. 14, 2009, while surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Russell County, Va., and was the daughter of the late Adolphus and Mary Ball Dye. She was a loving mother, sister, and grandmother. She had spent her life caring for her family and her loving prayers brought a lot of them through this life. She is loved by many and will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her. She was a lifetime resident of the area. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Leonard A. Lowe; a daughter, Brenda Sue Lowe; a son, Carl Lowe; one sister and five brothers. Those who remain to carry on her spirit are: her daughters: Mary Stilwell and husband Curtis of Paintlick, Va., Nancy Whited and husband Ralph of Cedar Bluff, Va., Debbie McGhee and husband Gary of Swords Creek, Va., Frances Sparks and husband Clyde of Richlands, Va., Rita Keen and husband Luther of Swords Creek, Va., Darlene Hale and husband Ronnie of Richlands, Va., Anna Broyles with whom Maxie had made her home for the last 13 years and was lovingly taken care of; sons: Doffie Lowe and wife Margaret of Concord, N.C., Timothy Lowe of Capron, Va., Jerry Lowe and wife Mary of Avondale, W.Va.; sister, Irene Johnson and husband Jimmie of Rosedale, Va.; brothers: Morgan Dye and wife Ann of Red Ash, Va., James Dye and wife Barb of Red Ash, Va. Maxie had helped raise two special grandchildren, Peewee Stilwell and Scottie Lowe. She dearly loved her 22 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; she is also survived by special care givers Carla Honaker, Helping Hands Home Nursing, Appalachian Agency for Senior Citizens, Dr. T. Ahmed and Carolyn Thornsberry. Funeral services for Maxie Lowe were conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Thurs., Feb. 19, 2009 at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands, Va., with the Bro. Charlie Dye and Bro. David Osborne officiating. Interment followed at the Ball Family Cemetery at Road Ridge, Va. Friends and family served as pallbearers and Gene Hurst, Jr. served as honorary pallbearer. Friends called on Tues. and Wed. evening from 6 – 9 p.m. at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands, Va. Francis and Family,
I just want you to know that you have our deepest sympathy. Ron and I have both gone through this grief and there is nothing anyone can say to make it hurt less. But, we do want you to know that we love you and we will do anything we can for you. You are in our hearts, thoughts and prayers.
