Chloe Winifred Hurley Justus

Chloe Winifred Hurley Justus, 88 years of age of Cedar Bluff, Va., formerly of Buchanan County, passed away Fri., Feb. 20, 2009 at the Clinch Valley Medical Center, Richlands, Va., following an extended illness. Born in Pike County, Ky., she was the daughter of the late James N. and Cora Mae Harr Hurley. She was a resident of Buchanan County most of her life and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and was a wonderful homemaker. "Behold thy mother" (John 19:27) Went to sleep in Jesus; with all of her children by her bedside. Mother shall wake-up at the sound of the trump of God, and rise in Christ. Mrs. Justus was preceded in death by her husband: Junior C. Justus, March 8, 1998; one daughter: Geraldine Justus; two sons: Imer and Michael Justus; four sisters; and one brother. She is survived by: one daughter: Imadean and husband Wendell Childress of Richlands, Va.; five sons: Ronald and wife Dolly Justus of Cedar Bluff, Va., Glenn Justus of Cedar Bluff, Va., Irvin and wife Margaret Justus of Claypool Hill, Va., Bryan and wife Diane Justus of Richlands, Va., Ray and wife Janie Justus of Cedar Bluff, Va.; one brother: Joe Hurley of Stopover, Ky. Also, survived by 16 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Funeral services for Chloe Winifred Hurley Justus were conducted Tues., Feb. 24, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Lee Burke and Sister Elsie Burke officiating. Burial followed in the Hibbitts Cemetery, Grundy, Va. Friends called at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel Sun. afternoon at 5:00 p.m. with services Sun. and Mon. evenings at 7:00 p.m. Active pallbearers were grandsons and friends.
