James H. Rosenbaum Sr.

James Herbert Rosenbaum Sr., 71, of Wytheville died Sunday, March 1, 2009. Funeral service was held Tuesday, March 3, at 1 p.m. at the Barnett Funeral Home with the Rev. Geary Jonas officiating. Interment was in the Bethany Lutheran Cemetery. He was born June 15, 1937, in Wythe County, son of the late Robert S. and Ethel Virginia Copeland Rosenbaum. He was retired from the construction industry. He was preceded in death by his wife, Penny Maxwell Rosenbaum; a sister, Ruby Lee Rosenbaum Groseclose; and a brother, Harry Luther Rosenbaum. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, James Jr. and Kelly Rosenbaum, David "Jackie" and Missy Rosenbaum, all of Wytheville; four grandchildren, Chase Rosenbaum, Brock Rosenbaum, Grant Rosenbaum and Grady Rosenbaum, all of Wytheville; a sister and brother-in-law, Phyllis and Roger Rutherford of Rural Retreat; and seven brothers and sisters-in-law, Kenneth and Brigette Rosenbaum of Rocky Mount, Howard and Joann Rosenbaum of Kernersville, N.C., Freddie and Daphne Rosenbaum of Cripple Creek, Larry Rosenbaum of Wytheville, Allen Rosenbaum of Wytheville, Eugene Rosenbaum of Cripple Creek and Dwight Rosenbaum of Wytheville. Barnett Funeral Home in Wytheville was in charge of the arrangements.
