Louise Ann Pruitt Cruey, 84, died Sunday, June 28, 2009 at her home in Marion. She was born in Jenkins, Kentucky, on Nov. 18, 1924 to the late William Cameron Pruitt and Virginia Mae Orange Pruitt. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Albert Pruitt, Thomas Sanders Pruitt and Ernest Owens, two sisters, Gladys Whitehead and Marie Buford, 10 infant brothers and sisters, and a son-in-law, Jim Debord. She had been employed at Virginia House Furniture for several years. Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Samuel G. Cruey; one son, Franklin George Cruey and wife, Marie, of Clinton, Okla.; one daughter, Virginia Christine "Sammy" Debord, of Marion; grandchildren, David Allen Debord and Amy Renee Debord; special friends, Carolyn Holman, Shirley Hess, and Dora Cruey; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, July 1, at Bradley's Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. David Neitch, the Rev. Mike Sage, the Rev. Richard Collins, the Rev. Tommy Addison and the Rev. Jimmy Taylor officiating. Entombment will follow in the Rosewood Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The family received friends Tuesday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 2680, North Canton, Ohio 44720 or to the American Heart Association; 7272 Greenville Ave., Dallas, Texas 75231. Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.bradleysfh.com. Bradley's Funeral Home of Marion is in charge of arrangements.
