Aunt Lucie, an exceptionally intelligent and gifted lady, was always a gracious hostess with a keen and dry sense of humor. When I would visit Burke's Garden alone sometimes, she would invite this nephew for a meal at least once. But one time when I told her I was doing a cleansing fast, she said with a little grin, "Oh good, I don't have to fix you a dinner!" Uncle Edgar had found a treasure in having her as his wife, and that marriage blessed us in-laws as well.

Dearest Greever Family, Edgar, Babe, Cindy and Nancy:
I am very sorry to hear of your loss, my thoughts are with all of you at this sad time.
I feel so fortunate to have gotten to know Lucie while living in Burke's Garden. Both she and Edgar were amazingly generous with me all those years, and have a special place in my heart.
I will remember her always as the multi-talented and understated fine lady she was, as well as the mother of my friends Babe and Cindy and Nancy. I know we will all miss her hugely enjoyable dry wit and sense of humor, a rare treasure to find.
I share in your grief, you have my deepest sympathy.

Dear Cindy and Family,

I was so sorry to hear of your mother's death. She was such a delightful lady! I remember her fondly from my many visits to Burke's Garden when we were young, from an elegant evening with the Greever family in Paris, and from a wonderful trip to New York. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers tonight.

For Cindy and her extended family -

I am so sorry to hear of your mother's passing. What a fine and gracious lady! All of this time, and I never knew about so many of her accomplishments. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. I am sure Burke's Garden will not be the same without her. However, she left fine heirs to continue her wonderful work and contributions to the community.
Lots of love always, Gin-Gin

I have known few people who exhibited the grace and courage of Aunt Lucie.
Her departure leaves us poorer until we experience the reunion of those in Christ, as promised in 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18.

Dearest Edgar, Nancy, Cindy and Joe, Babe and Thad, and the rest of the family, you have my deep love and condolences as we all remember Lucie and how much she has meant to each of us. I remember the first time I met her...at "the Aunties" when she and Edgar were courting, and Edgar brought her with him to visit one evening while I was there. She was beautiful then, and remained so the rest of her life. She always brightened my life whenever we were together, and I smile every time I think of her. Now she's celebrating Life Eternal and the reunion with those who have gone before. Lisa and Cheryl join me in sending our love & hugs. We'll be with you in spirit Friday afternoon at the service. A hug to each of you, Berta

My deepest sympathies go out to Lucie's family. Her husband was my first employer 31 years ago, and the two of them bought me a corelle cookware dish for my wedding gift, and I still have that dish. Every time I use it I think of them and their generosity. God bless !

I am very sorry for your loss. Although I did not know Mrs. Greever personally, I'm sure she will be greatly missed. She seemed like a very dynamic person who left a beautiful mark on everyone she met. I hope that your family finds comfort in this difficult time. Prayer to our heavenly Father can give us strength to do so - Psalm 31:24. Please accept my sincere condolences.
