Ernest Leonard Henderson

Henderson Ernest Leonard Henderson, 72, died Monday, Sept. 7, 2009, at Ridgefield Retirement Home. He was born in Smyth County to the late Willie and Eliza Henderson and was preceded in death by his brothers Roscoe, Walter and Carl and sisters Laurie and Mary. He had worked at Virginia House Furniture and Mountain CAP. Survivors include his wife, Eva Henderson; children, Beverly Ward and husband, Steve, of Marion, Curtis Warren and wife, Diane, of Chilhowie, and Joe Allen Warren of Chilhowie; brothers, Glen Henderson of Marion, Harold Henderson of Marion and Dewey "Red" Henderson of Marion; sisters, Stella Aires of Dublin and Leona Ford of Richmond; grandchildren, Debbie Mullins of Marion, Trish Widner of Chilhowie, Melissa Lawson of Chilhowie, Brian Edmiston of Chilhowie and Melanie Teaters; great-grandchildren, Ashlyn Sheets, Rachel Sheets, Breanna Edmiston, Kayla Lyles, Ryan Widner, Jessica Teaters, Katlyn Widner and Shane Teaters; special companions, Smoky and Susie; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 10, at Bradley's Funeral Chapel in Chilhowie with Pastor Steve Hutton and Pastor Darrell Lambert officiating. Interment followed in Grosses Creek Cemetery. The family received friends Wednesday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.bradleysfh.com.
