Glen Junior Hess

Glen "Shorty" Junior Hess Mr. Glen "Shorty" Junior Hess, age 73, of the Green Acres section of Honaker, VA, passed away Thurs., Sept. 10, 2009, at his home. Born Nov. 4, 1935 in River Mountain, VA, he was a son of the late Glen Honaker and Carrie Edna Hess. He had lived most of his life in the area and was a disabled and retired coal miner. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. Survivors include one daughter, Anita Gail Hollenback and spouse, James, of Lebanon; five sons, Hubert Leon Hess and spouse, Catherine, Donald Lee Hess, David Lee Hess, Timothy Eugene Hess and spouse, Stacy, all of Honaker, and Glen Everett Hess and spouse, Pam, of Swords Creek; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several brothers and sisters also survive. Funeral services were conducted at 11:00 a.m. Sun., Sept. 13, in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, VA, with Rev. Clarence Yates and Rev. Denver Barton officiating. Interment followed in Russell Memorial Cemetery at Lebanon, VA. Relatives and friends served as pallbearers. Honaker Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
