William Martin Spangler

WILLIAM MARTIN SPANGLER FLOYD-William Martin Spangler (Bill), 77, departed this life to be with Jesus on Monday, September 28, 2009. Bill served his country 20 years in the United States Air Force, retired from Clark Gas and Oil, and spent the rest of his life farming which he dearly loved. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Harmon and Vera Martin Spangler, two children, William Larry Spangler and Kimberly Ann Spangler, and one brother, Maxine Spangler of Salem. Bill is survived by: his wife of 58 years, Margaret Underwood Spangler; sons, Rodger Dale Spangler and Daniel Mark Spangler and wife Heather Morrison Spangler; daughter Genell Spangler Vest and husband Tim Vest; grandchildren: Charity Vest Nolen and husband Mitchell Nolen and Jessica, Elijah, Levi, Josiah, and Jude Spangler; brothers, Joseph G. Spangler and wife Ann Dollin Spangler, and Vernon Ray Spangler and wife Janette Salmons Spangler; sister-in-law, Pauline Lyon Spangler; mother-in-law, Alpha Radford; many nieces and nephews; and many special friends. Funeral service was held Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at 11 a.m. at the Maberry Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Stephen Lackey officiating. Interment followed in Jacksonville Cemetery with Military Honors by the Floyd V.F.W. Post #7854 & American Legion Post # 127.
