Philip Holmes Obituary
Tragic youngster Philip Holmes died in the Manchester Children's Hospital at 6pm on Tuesday 23 March after stepping out between a transit van and a car in Station Road, Huncoat just yards from his home.
Police said the van had blocked his view of oncoming traffic and the driver of the Ford Focus that hit him could have done nothing to prevent the collision.
The music loving youngster was taken to the Royal Blackburn Hospital on Monday after the accident before being transferred to the Manchester Children's Hospital.
But despite the best efforts of the doctors, Philip never regained consciousness and died later from serious head injuries.
His mother Judith has now decided to donate his organs to help others in life threatening situations.
Little Philip leaves a large family, including his mum, three sisters Madeleina, 18, Emily, 17, and Ruby, 11, his Nanna Jean, his granddad Les Holmes and 21 cousins.

We’re all totally shocked and saddend by what’s happened, but remember the fun & laughs that accompanied Philip wherever he went!
Philip certainly brightened up our days and Emma takes pride in telling people that he was her first child when she started Childminding – she’d have had a thousand Philips if she could!
I was always impressed by Philip’s ability to hear a crisp packet opening at 200 yards and come running, but then he’d develop ‘selective hearing’ when asking him to put his coat or shoes on before playing in the garden! Good times.
A fantastic little chap who will be sorely missed.
