Dearest Kent and family,
Sherri was a wonderful friend. Her laughter and brightness were felt by everyone who met her. I was privileged to be her college roomate for a year at BYU with Leslie, too. I remember the night she came home from a trip with you Kent, and told us of how she realized you were her eternal sweetheart as she watched you change the tire on your car. It was so fun to watch you plan your life together and to share in the romance. I remember what a beautiful couple you made in your engagement photos. It took me a little longer and three tries to find what you have. I was married to my soul mate and eternal companion in 2009 and Sherri sent me the most wonderful wedding card which I still keep out. It is of Cinderella and Prince Charming dancing and says Happily Ever After. She was so happy for me and shared in our joy.
I wish that by sharing your sorrow I could take some of it away. I know her love for you and pride in your many accomplishments will live on. I loved her family letters at Christmas time and the beautiful cards she always sent. I will keep all of you in my prayers. I will always remember Sherri for her grace and loving kindness and true friendship.

I am a receptionist at the Jordan River Temple and I would like to share my last memory of Sherri. It was the last Thursday she served. She and Bro. Winder were followers on the last session of the day. They came up the escalator holding hands and walked down the hall still holding hands. This is a precious memory to me to remember her with her sweetheart.

This tragedy comes very close to my heart on many levels.
Kent, I understand the shock of losing the love of your life, the sunshine from each day. There are no words that anyone can offer to deaden the pain you are experiencing. I know, I'VE BEEN THERE! What I also know is Heavenly Father is mindful of your loss and will support you. I don't know how it happens but He gives you strength to go on. He helps you trust in His will and gives motivation to find meaning that assists you to move forward. One day at a time!
Kids, I also know what it feels like to have your parent disappear from your life overnight with no warning! I have learned though it is VERY HARD THIS WAY, it is better than watching them die by inches with illness. All of you are in my prayers and will continue to be as you adjust to life without the one you always could count on to "Be there when you needed her"!

Kent & Family, I was so saddened to hear of your loss of Sherri. Last Sat. evening we were at the same baptism all together in the chapel. Your granddaughter was getting baptized and our grandson was getting baptized. We saw your name on the program and I thought to myself,
'I'll have to call Sherri and tell her we had grandchildren baptized the same day.' Then Monday morning I received the call from a friend that had just heard that Sherri had been killed in a car accident. I'm so sorry for your family and pray the Comforter will be with you & your family. I attended the funeral and it was a beautiful funeral.

Dear Kent & Mike,
I just learned of Sherri's passing today. I was shocked and saddened at the sudden loss. I must not have watched the news when this was reported last week.
Sherri was and is an amazing, talented, caring and warm person. Every encounter I ever had with her was genuine and enriching. She has made a huge impact on so many lives and there is no doubt she will continue her mission on the other side.
I am sorry to hear of your loss and send my deepest condolences and sympathies. I add my faith to yours, that your separation will be temporary....and because of your great faith and temple covenants your reunion will one day be beautiful, sweet, and permanent.
In the days ahead, may your faith sustain you and may the love of our Heavenly Father encircle and lift you and the rest of her loved ones. You will certainly be in my prayers.
With love,
Jane Hawley

Kent and family,
We're sorry for the temporary separation you have from your eternal companion and sweetheart; as well as your children's and grandchildren's, mother and grandmother.
It was a privilege to work with you in the Stake, years ago, especially to do with Temple work in the Stake.
May you all be blessed at this time, while Sherri has left on a mission; whom you will see again, "soon."

Kent,
I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your wife. I remember having dinner with the two of you a few times when we were working at Winder in St George. She was always so nice. My thoughts and prayers are with you. I lost Kreg in May to Lou Gerhig's disease. Hard times are ahead, but I know that Heavenly Father will be with you. The trials that we must go through only make us stronger. The eternal reward in the end will be worth it.

September 16, 2011
My name is Cree Williams-Davies I would like to share a story
I had the pleasure of meeting Sherri. I work at a local body shop in West Valley. Over the years we have the pleasure of having Sherri as a customer. The last time she was in our shop for repairs to her vehicle. She went home and call me back to tell me what a wonderful job we did on her car, how nice it was to chit chat with my college and i and she always has a wonderful experience everytime she comes in . But that was not enough for her , she call back after hours and left a wonderful, perfectly eliquent message. She went on and on about my college and I's personalities and how she felt a connection to us and that she could tell we were wonderful at our jobs ,but more important she thought we were wonderful good hearted people. I was completly taken back and overwhelmed with the wonderful things she expressed to me. And on top of that , she called back the next day to verify we heard the message. I share this story because for two reasons, it made me feel so good about my self and built my confidence but above that is showed me a glims of what a WONDERFUL person she is. My heart goes out to not only to her family and friends but to all that meet her. I believe in my heart that she touched many many hearts and i know my heart is a little heavy since her passing. Thank you for letting me share my story. God Bless. To Sherri thank you so very much, to her family and friends you are in my prayers

I remember your family moved into our ward after I had gone to college, but I would come home during the summers. I knew your mom was a great person, but I did not know how great she really was. Dear Winder Family,
We are very saddened by your families loss.
June 1991 we moved into our home@ 4216w. 4100so. proud as proud can be. 34 years, 3 kids and struggling. We own a home!
Working in the yard mornings, before the day job. I would exchange smiles and chit-chat with a happy, wise, older gentlemen all dressed in white. He would continue on with his morning journey.
The sunrise, the happy wise man all dressed in white. I thought to myself WOW! I have all the help i'm going to need.
I'm sure our families have exchanged other smiles and chit-chat in the past 20 years not knowing. But, that happy, older gentlemen named Ned, all dressed in white. Was more important to me than anyone will ever know. Never to be forgotten.
Our deepest sympathy to your special family.
Sincerely,
J "Reg"& Marla Roudabush

Dear Winder Family,
Our heart felt sympathy for the loss of companionship of your wife, mother and grandmother. She naturally lit up a room when she entered it and when she left that room everyone in it had met a new friend, or renewed and existing and true friendship because that was her true caring nature. I consider it a genuine priviledge to be among the Winder Family group of friends. Our prayers are with you for your hurt to quickly turn into wonderful times remembered for your whole family.

Kent, Mike, and Family, Sherri was a beautiful lady. What a special person she was to so many. It was always so sweet to see the two of you together---kinda like teenagers in love. She will be with you always and is with you father and hers right now having a good visit about those she left behind and her love for all of you. I want to thank her for her caring and kind way with my son, niece, and nephew. May the good Lord be there for your family in this hard time.

Dear Gwen Winder, mother-in-law,of a beautiful angel, mother to her husband, Kent, twin of Karen, and grandmother to all their children. I realize this is a great trial for you. My heart is torn for your whole family.
I follow the news of WVC and my heart sings at the progress and loyalty their Mayor, Sherri's son, your grandson, is making. He has only just begun as are all of his siblings who are a credit to Ned and you, dear Gwen.
Now Sherri is their guardian angel.
Thanks for your kindness and support of Granger High School. Our children were blessed to have your children as friends. Ned's mother, Alma, encouraged me along the way. I will never forget the closeness I felt to her. Sherri is enfolded in her arms along with Ed and Ned.
With love and deepest sympathy,

One of my first thoughts when I heard about Sherri's passing was how much I would miss seeing her smiling face. Sherri was a woman who always made me feel welcome, loved and important. I hope to be like her, she was such a positive influence on me. I first met Sherri when I became friends with Nate while he was working on his production, "Travels" with my brother Jeff. I remember going to the Winder home and spending time with Nate and Sherri. Sherri was one of those Moms who immediately put you at ease and welcomed you with open arms into her home. She was always so supportive of everything that I did. She came with Kent to see some of my productions at Valley Jr. High, and then when I became the new Drama teacher at Hunter High, she was one of my most ardent supporters. I will miss seeing her at my shows. Two years ago before and after I visited Nate in Germany, I visited Sherri at her home. We talked into the wee hours of the morning both times about anything and everything. I am so grateful I had that time to spend with her and I wish that I could have had many more opportunities like that. I was always impressed with her work ethic, enthusiasm, and fierce loyalty to her family. She was such a proud Mom! I loved that about her. She was my friend, and I will miss her greatly, but I look forward to seeing her again.

Our hearts go out to you at this time for your loss, but it is great knowing that she is with her family in heaven again and doing the work that she needs to do. She is an amazing woman!!! I loved hearing her speak in Church. She had such an amazing Testimony of the Gospel and was a true inspiration. We are very thankful to have you as cousins and if there is anything we can do for you family, please don't hesitate to let us know!

There are no words i can express that will ease the pain and loss of such a beautiful and loving person. Know she is preparing a place for all of you in heaven with our father in heaven. Always stay close to eachother as a family and take care of eachother & take care of eachother and stay close to your father in heaven he will comfort you and bring you peace. I am so privileged to have called her my friend and all of you as a family my friends. My best memories of Sherri was the times when Mike was running for mayor and the few conversations over the phone getting involved with the honk and waves. Participating in the honk and waves, on election night watching the results come in and supporting mike, and then on inauguration day when mike was sworn in and took office. She was and is very kind, and genuine. My prayers and thoughts are with all of you. I Love you guys!

The thoughts I have about Sherri and the entire Winder family are rampant. To share them all would take too much space -- suffice it to say that I have loved and greatly respected Sherri. She has been a colleague, a friend, a mentor, and certainly an outstanding example. She will be sorely missed, but greatly remembered.

Entire Winder Family,
It is with deepest sorrow that we give to you our sympathy. Sherri was an elegant, kind, thoughtful, classy, hardworking, friendly person. She always looked perfect, acted perfect and she did her best at everything she ever did. We will miss her and her beautiful smile, her wonderful laugh. I loved being in literary club with Sherri for all of these years, and we really enjoyed working in the church with you with the YSA's. Good friends for many years, we are praying for you and have put your names in our temple here. Kent, we love you and hope that you can feel our sorrow for your loss. Aimee, Mike, Tami, Nathan and Isaac your mother loved you with all of her heart and she was so proud of you! May you all continue to follow your dreams with her cheering you on from heaven. Isn't it wonderful to know that you are a forever family, sealed in the temple with all of the rights and blessings promised? We loved your wife and mom and we will miss her deeply. We send you all of our love and prayers from 8,300 miles away in Montevideo, Uruguay. We are so sorry that we cannot be there for you right now.

Oh, I am so very sorry to hear about this. I was just enjoying getting to know Sherri at our monthly lunch group. I was struck with how personable and well-spoken she was and was looking forward to being able to know her better. I'm so sorry for your loss. What a wonderful lady.

I met Sherri when she was called to be our Visiting Teacher. When she was at my house there was always a bright light shining. I literally could feel how close she was to our Heavenly Father. When the Wards got put together she was dismissed as our Visiting Teacher. But she still remained my friend. She called me to help give me advise on a big decision I had to make. I am so glad I was able to have that last conversation with her. I love her so much for being such a kind and loving friend. My heart goes out to her family. I am glad I got to know this beautiful lady and I know she will shine down upon us.

What a wonderful loving, kind and thoughtful woman. Sherri touched many lives through her years of service in the church and the community. I am grateful for the blessing of serving with her several times in church callings. She taught me a lot about including everyone and always looking for the good in everyone. I will miss her wonderful smile and her hugs so much. Kent, my love and prayers are with you and your whole family. May all your wonderful memories and the knowledge that families truly are eternal lift you up in this time of sorrow. I know that Sherri will be watching over you and protecting you from the other side of the veil. With much love, Lori

I'll always admire the way Sherri smiled and helped everyone. She accepted assignments with a smile and always did her best. To me, the work she did on building a Parade Float with her beloved husband and half the ward, was a wonderful example of her willingness to serve and her ability to lead the way.
Her desire to be fun everywhere she went is probably best exemplified by the time, about 2 weeks ago, when she was on an in-flight fueling mission for some fancy AF jet, and she stood in the flying tanker, and danced, just as she always did on cruises and family parties. Sherry we'll miss you and we'll take good care of your dancing partner. Bret
