While I knew him only as "FRITZ" He commanded respect. I never met anyone that knew the game of baseball more than he did. Why did I know that. Simply because he could win games against me with far less talent to work with. He would tell me that the kids playing baseball during that time were lazy as he would wink and smile. Then proceed to show you who's players were lazy. You were a fine man my friend and the United States of America was a better place because of it! (Highland Resident)

Dear Jean & family,
You may remember meeting me last at Aunt Loretta & Uncle Walter's 60th Anniversary.
I remember Zeb from our growing up years. The cousins met just about weekly at Busia Fritz's house in Whiting. We played outdoors or listened to the adults trying to outdo each other with tall tales & had a great time together.
Zeb will be missed by many & you all have my deepest sympathy in your great loss.

Jean, I am sorry to hear about your loss. I always had a good time with Larry going on road trips during our careers at Calumet Coach. And I will never forget the good times we had going to all those car shows and calling ourselves the FBI. He will be missed.

Mrs. Fritz,
I am the individual who called your husband a few weeks ago about his playing days with Whiting Post 80.
I was terribly saddened to read of his passing. You and your children have my deepest sympathy.
Just from reading about his accomplishments and from his taking the time to speak with me I could tell he was a very special person in many ways.
After reading the article in the Times and from seeing the response to his life it is very apparent that he touched many lives.
I am appreciative that he took the time to speak with me. May God Bless you and your family.

Jean & Family,I'm so sorry for your loss. Larry & I go back a long way.It was a pleasure being teammates from blocking for his TD's or his battery mate in baseball in H.S. and Post 80. Everytime I spoke of our teams years ago Larry's name was always the one I bragged about. It was truly wonderful being his friend and teammate.

Dear Toots and Fritz family: I am deeply sorry for the loss of Larry. I will always remember him from high school as a real nice guy and that we both shared the title of "MOST ATHLETIC". It's like yesterday that I can see him and I getting our picture taken holding up bar bells, for the 'Reflector' yearbook (1967)! God bless you all during this most difficult time. Sincerely, Bonnie (Stam) Ciesar

To the Fritz family, My deepest condolences on the passing of Larry. What a competitor he was as i had the pleasure (and misfortune) of competing against him in High school on the football field and baseball field while he was at Whiting and I at Tech. Competing is probably the wrong word because it was definitely one sided when I faced him as a hitter in baseball and as a back-up QB in football. He was someone I truly looked up to throughout his career.
I hope the many great memories that you have will ease your pain at this difficult time. My thoughts and prayers are with you
