Dennis Rollen Casselberry

Casselberry, Dennis Rollen Ann Arbor, MI Age 61, passed away May 20, 2005 in Ann Arbor. He was born March 27, 1944 in Ann Arbor, the son of the late Mildred Weiss and Robert Casselberry. Dennis graduated from the Ypsilanti High School in 1962 and earned a bachelor's degree from University of Michigan. He then served in the Peace Corps from 1966-1970 in Malaysia, where he met his beloved wife, Cecilia. They married in 1970. After returning from Malaysia, Dennis earned a Master's in Public Health from U-M. He retired in 2001. He was a life long member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Ypsilanti, where he sang in the choir, taught adult Sunday School, and was active in Stephen Ministries. Dennis was also involved in several community services, including the IFCC and Lutheran Campus Ministry. He was an avid reader, a lover of jazz and classical music, a crossword and logic puzzle enthusiast, and enjoyed sharing humorous stories with family and friends. Dennis leaves behind his loving wife, Cecilia, and children, Ian of Ann Arbor and Nicole of Charleston, SC. Other survivors include his brothers, Michael Weiss of Ypsilanti, Steven Weiss of New York, Rollen Casselberry of Incline Village, NV, and Rob Casselberry of Yuba City, CA; sisters, Lesslee Belmore of Milan, Martha Long of Yuba City, CA, Jean Stephenson of Yuba City, CA; and numerous nieces, nephews. He was pre ceded in death by his mother and father, stepfather Edward Weiss, and sisters Bertha and Susan. We all love and miss him deeply. A private family visitation will be held at Nie Funeral Home in Ann Arbor. A memorial service will be held at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 201 North River, Ypsilanti, on Thursday May 26 at 11 a.m. with Jonathan Bomgren officiating.
