To a great friend who taught me a thing or two about the game. He was always eager to help our park and always made sure we were treated with the respect he thought we should have. I miss him each time I coach a Softball game.

Graybill worked very hard in his professional life as well as for Metro Atlanta ASA and made our lives a little easier for all of us that love the game of softball. He will not be replaced. Some one will be the new ASA Commisioner, but no one will ever replace Graybill.

My deepest sympathy is extended to his sons and family members.

To the family of Graybill Daniel Jr(especially June & George). It is gratifying to learn that there was another Millenite that loved sports as much as Whacker and I. Graybill was a few years behind me in school so I didn't get to follow him when I left home for college.. The Daniel family was highly respected in our community and it is certainly evident that Graybill earned the love and respect of many. Our condolences on your loss.

Graybill was Metro Atlanta ASA softball to many of us who umpired, played, coached or were just spectators. Because of his undying love for softball and his unselfish desire to genuinely help people, many individuals were able to achieve their dreams, goals and aspirations in this game. I truly owe him many more thanks than this simple note can ever express. Graybill, from the bottom of my heart, I truly thank you for everything I have attained in the game of softball. I will definitely miss you, my friend.

Gratefully,

Graybill,

As Jesse Meyers stated, we'll get together later. Graybill made me look like a hero in football, quarterbacking us in a tough game at Waynesboro, GA in 1960 (yes, that long ago). You threw me my first touchdown pass to get us out of a tie and eventually win the game! I will never forget your smile and leadership, and even though you went to Tech and I went to Georgia, my memories are are nothing but filled with great times as Jenkins County's only South Georgia Championship Team. We literally lived together with a whole gang of friends growing up in the teen years. And June, we cut your senior high school math class together and you were more upset with Graybill than the rest of us. I count as one of my blessings, knowing Graybill.

I had the pleasure to know Graybill when he called baskeball games at First Baptist in Jonesboro. He was excellent in working with young kids learning the game of basketball. I remember him showing a kid have to dribble better during a timeout.

He loved sports and loved people. He especially loved kids and he wanted them to love and enjoy sports the way he did.

I thank God for knowing him and pray God's blessings on his family at this time

I met Graybill in 1974 while I was working at the health department in Savannah, Ga. He hired me to work for him at the Clayton County Health Department in 1976. Most of our work was in the STD clinic and doing education in the schools. We did however stand side by side giving many a swine flu shot. My thoughts are with the family. Mike.

Graybill will surely be missed. A true Southern Gentleman and a good friend. I appreciated his quick wit and smile. He could make the best out of any situation and handled them all in a very professional manner. It is always very difficult in times like these but we should be thankful for the times we shared with Graybill. He will always be in our thoughts and prayers. Tony and Skip, your Dad made us all a little better, thanks for sharing him with us.

When I first met Graybill 20 years ago he was working on behalf of A.S.A. Other than those times I watched him referee when my daughters were playing basketball, Graybill was always working for A.S.A. He will be missed by hundreds who had contact with him and his legacy is how much Metro Atlanta softball grew & improved under his hand. God bless you Graybill.

You will be missed by all, you hospitality and charity toward those you came across in life will not be forgotten.

I will never forget your care and concern you showed to me and my family while my son was so critically ill in that Atlanta hospital.

May God's peace be on your family.

I knew Mr. Daniel through his long association with my brother, Tim Smith, an ASA umpire through Metro Umpires Association.

Although Graybill was a "Jacket" and we are "Dawgs", and the teasing back and forth over our respective teams/schools was always certainly lively, I came to very much appreciate Mr. Daniel and his love for softball and umpiring.

His help, mentorship and unfailing support for my brother and many others in the umpiring community will long be remembered and he will be missed by so many in the sport.

God Bless his family and friends who share the grief of his passing. My prayers are with you in this hour of loss.

Graybill you will be missed - you have done so much for softball and you were such a good friend - you always were thinking of Steph - always bringing her something back from tournaments or meeting - might be an autograph or some kind of memento but you were always thinking of her - and then you brought her the angel that she took to heaven with her - I know she was there to greet you with monster cookies and also asking when you were going to give her that outside corner - I will miss you

Graybill was a good man, that always had a smile on his face on the softball fields. He was a mentor to myself as well as many other up and coming umpires. He will be greatly missed by all that have been associated with him. May God bless his family in this time of great loss, and know that he is in the presence of the greater umpire and has been called "safe" at home plate..
