ROSS HANNAFORD Obituary

There have been many Gods and many Guitar Players.

But you Hanna made anyone nearby feel your warmth, spirit and beautiful unique playing. Such a gift.

Thank you for that pleasure but also thank you for your friendship these many years. A unique and national treasure you were.

So your free and away now rocking those heavenly souls. Lucky punters.

God Bless

Ross I would like to think of you playing 'ad infinitum'. You had a wonderful relationship with your guitar, no doubt envied by many. To those feeling that heinous twinge of pain when thinking of your passing, I send love. Rebecca Humphrys

I remember you in your school uniform at one of the life saving clubs along the bay eyes glued on Gerry and the Red Onions. He was your man in those days. I'm proud to say you learned a lot from him. Right to the end you showed your appreciation for his outrageous stage persona through your own presentation. My appreciation of your talent was twofold. If its possible, I know you will be jamming together now. Claire Humphrys

Ross you were a national treasure, Totally individual style, Always innovative, A truly unique stylist who I've listened to & loved for over 40 years now, You are irreplacable! Thanks for all the great performances I've been lucky enough to see & hear over the decades and the odd chat on the phone! As so many have said, you will be so sadly missed by all who loved you & especiallly in Melbourne where you were so much a part of the citys fabric and musical history. You were such a beautiful person and touched many peoples lives, certainly mine. Rest Peacefully.

I can only think of you Ross with great warmth and amusement. I have so many fond memories of you beginning with Adelaide 1969; hilarious escapades over decades. We were the crew on the reggae ship of Hannaford hoisting the sails to blissdom, with just a wink and a smile from you for guidance. Loved you always. Valda
