Daniel Barber Obituary

Barber, Daniel M.
63, Scottsdale, AZ passed away early Saturday evening in the SJH Hospice Care Inpatient Care Center, Bridgeton, NJ with his family by his side. Dan was born & raised in Vineland where he was a longtime resident prior to moving to AZ in 1990. He was the son of the late Marie (Fischer) & George A. Barber, Sr. Dan was a U.S. Marine Corp Veteran serving during the Vietnam War. He received the Vietnam Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, National Defense Service Medal. Dan worked in the Casino industry in both Atlantic City & AZ. Dan received an associate's degree from Atlantic County Community College. He was a member of the Marine Corps League. Dan enjoyed visiting and playing in the casino and was a sports fan watching football & baseball and playing pinochle. He is survived by 3 sisters; Rose Marie (Peter) Shadinger, Scottsdale, AZ, Rita (Martin)Yusko, Minotola, Brenda (Harvey) Shaw, Vld. 6 brothers; Anthony (Carol), Las Vegas, NV, George (Kathy), Thomas (Victoria), Timothy (Elizabeth), Michael (Patricia), Steven (Bernice) Barber all of Vineland, NJ. As well as many nieces & nephews & grand nieces & nephews. Dan's family wishes to thank his co-workers for their kindness shown to him thru his illness. His funeral liturgy will be celebrated at 10 AM on Saturday 3/19/11 at the St. Isidore's R.C. Church, 1655 Magnolia Rd., Vineland, NJ where relatives & friends will be received from 9:00-10:00 AM. Burial will be in the Cumberland County Veterans Cemetery, Hopewell Twp., NJ. For those who wish, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the SJH HospiceCare, P.O. Box 160, Bridgeton, NJ 08302, American Cancer Society, S.J. Reg., 1851 Old Cuthbert Rd., Cherry Hill, NJ 08034 or to the charity of your choice.
