Hugh Earhart Obituary

Earhart, Hugh T.
Hugh T. Earhart, of Desert Hills, AZ, passed away March 3, 2011. He was born to E.P. & Elzada Earhart on May 3, 1924 in Lubbock, TX. He graduated Lubbock High School in 1942, entered the U.S. Army in 1943. He served in the military for 23 years, serving in combat missions in the South Pacific during WWII and in Criminal Investigations in Germany and Korea. He married Julia Guerr in 1952. After retiring from active military service, Hugh became a background investigator for the Civil Service Commission for 20 years, settling in Covina, California. Upon retiring from investigations, Hugh moved to Sun City West. Julia preceded him in death. Hugh is survived by daughter Barbara Severson (George) of Desert Hills, AZ; daughter Peggy Lopp (Ray) of Kingsport, TN; grandson Doug Severson (Kristen); granddaughter Heather Kinney; great granddaughter Novalee Roberto. Also his surviving spouse Virginia Earhart whom he married in 2002. Memorial services for Hugh will be Saturday, March 12, 2011 at 1 PM at Hansen Desert Hills Mortuary, 6500 E. Bell Rd, Scottsdale, AZ. He will be greatly missed by all whose lives he touched. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be sent to 31st bomb Squadron Association, Treasurer Jim Doty, 135 Park Drive, Dayton, TN 37321. I only met him a few times, but I saw he was a wonderful father to Barbara. Great father-in-law to George. The bestest grandpa to Doug. He was there when Barbara needed him. Barbara was there when he needed her the most. What more can he ask for in a family. Don't mourn him to long. Celebrate the years you had by keeping his memory alive.
