Kay Williams Obituary

Williams, Kay Elaine
passed away on March 1, 2011. Kay Elaine (Borchers) Williams was born in LaPorte, Indiana on February 5, 1941. She lived in Buchanan, Michigan until her family moved to Tucson in 1949 for her mother's health. In 1958 she graduated from Catalina HS and then enrolled at the University of Arizona. There she met and married Chris on July 7, 1961. Our sons were born in 1962 and 1965. Kay returned to school at Arizona State University and completed her degree in education in 1976. She taught school in the Chandler School District for 20 years. Kay died after a two-year battle with cancer on Tuesday, March 1, 2011. She is survived by her sister, Deanna (h. Brian); husband, Chris; our sons, Kip and Steve (w. Michelle); their three children, Megan, Cade and Natalie; several uncles, aunts and cousins; and a large extended family. Kay was filled with love for others along with the Spiritual gift of mercy and a desire to help and serve others. These qualities were reflected in her various life roles as a daughter, sister, wife, mother, niece and cousin. They also influenced her careers as a neighbor's babysitter, Avon distributor, teacher, tutor, and test proctor. Her PEO sisters, fellow students in Bible Study Fellowship, and brothers and sisters at Chandler Bible Church where she served as a Deaconess were also blessed by these qualities. In lieu of flowers, Kay asks that you consider giving a donation in her name to Chandler Bible Church, the Chandler Education Foundation, or Rafiki, an outreach of Bible Study Fellowship. A memorial service celebrating Kay's life will be held at Chandler Bible Church, 1200 N. Price Rd., Chandler, AZ 85226 at 3 pm. on Saturday, March 12, 2011. Arrangements under the direction of Falconer Funeral Home, www.falconerfuneralhome.com

Kay was not only daughter's second grade teacher, but a fellow Erie School teacher. Her kind, smiling manner endeared herself to her students and staff. She is greatly missed.

Dearest Chris, Kip, Steve & family. Ike jus told us today of Kay's passing. Oh, what a dear, sweet woman. You could see the light of Christ in her in the way she lived & conducted her life. So very sorry to hear of her passing. She is with God now & may He comfort you all as you adjust to life without her until you meet again. Much love, Dan & Sue Avery

Kay was one of my best friends. It was easy to open up to her because she made it safe for me to just be me. It has been such a blessing that Chris and Kay have visited Toby and me almost every year wherever we lived - even in Iowa. She will always be part of my heart. Chris, Kip, Steve and his family are in my prayers.

Clem and I are away from Arizona, but wanted to extend our condolences, thoughts and prayers to Kay's family. She was a master teacher to our daughter Karen; a wonderful teammate teacher at Erie School to me and a true lady. She will be greatly missed, but fondly remembered for a well-lived life of service and love. Truly, Clem and Dotty Deschenes
