Julia Geiogamah Obituary
Julia Merle Geiogamah, 85, passed to heaven in her Tempe home on March 7, 2011. Her children and grandchildren were at her bedside. Julia was born on June 5, 1925 in Mountain View, Oklahoma. She is preceded in death by her parents Ernest and Mary Hunt, and her son, David. She is survived by her husband, Curtis, her children, Linda (Gabe), Richard (Heidi), and Steve (Claudia), 7 grandchildren, Alysa (Aaron), Mike, Crystal (Matt), Mary (Josh), Matthew (Natalie), Rachel, and Daniel, 3 great-granddaughters, McKenzie, Madison, and Kaylin. Julia was an elementary school teacher. She loved teaching little children, helping them develop into adult lives. Most of her teaching was for her native Indian children in Oklahoma, New Mexico, and Arizona. She taught for 16 years at the Gila Crossing Day School on the Gila River reservation, retiring in 1988. She was a loving, gentle, compassionate person, always seeing the bright and positive side. She will forever live in our hearts. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, Friday, March 11, 2011 in Green Acres Mortuary. Funeral Service will be held at 9:30 AM, March 12, 2011 in Green Acres Chapel of Light, 401 North Hayden Rd. Scottsdale, AZ 85257. www.greenacresmortuary.net
