James Grdina Obituary

Grdina, James R.
June 3, 1935 - March 2, 2011. James R. Grdina (Jim) was born in Cleveland, Ohio to Raymond and Dolores Grdina. He attended St. Thomas Military Academy in St. Paul, MN where at the age of 14 he met his true love Barbara Lorence. Married in 1957, the two shared what was a fairy tale romance. Jim and Barbara have 5 children: Mary, Jim, Kris, Terese, and John and 7 grandchildren: Michael, David, Stephen, Paul, Matthew, Andrew, and Jayden. Jim's two brothers John and Michael Grdina still reside in the Cleveland area. Jim was rich in family and friends. Known to many as Mr. G, he has spread his laughter, generosity, and zest for life to all that he met. His laughter still echoes in our memories and his contagious smile will be missed by everyone. Join us in celebrating his life. Services will be held Saturday March 12, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Blessed Sacrament Church at 11300 N. 64th St. Scottsdale, Arizona 85254. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Banner's Alzheimer's Institute 901 E. Willetta Street Suite 300 Phoenix, AZ 85006. Go in peace Dad to laugh on Glory's side.

He was G8 when I was G6 at NHMS. I just noticed on Facebook that his classmate Spencer Niles was inquiring about his classmates. I have lost contact with all of the NHMS people. It is too bad that they did not keep up an Alumni group.
