Carolyn Kirshman Obituary

Kirshman, Carolyn Jane
79, of Mesa, AZ passed away on March 4, 2011. She was born on April 4, 1931 in Flint, MI. to the late Luther E. and Ida A. Blazier. On June 19, 1948 she was united in marriage to Robert J. Kirshman and remained married for 62 years. The family moved to Scottsdale, AZ in 1959 and shortly afterward settled permanently in Mesa, AZ. After dealing with 4 boys, she and Robert adopted a baby girl, Kimberly Anne. They also acted as foster paren ts later in life. She attended Mesa Community College and received her degree in nursing. She served as a school nurse in the Chandler school district. After retirement, they both enjoyed traveling and ocean cruises. She was a very talented artist, enjoyed sewing and knitting and was an avid antique collector. She is preceded in death by her eldest son, Michael and survived by her husband Robert, 3 children, Peter, Christopher and Kimberley, 20 Grandchildren and 17 Great-Grandchildren. She will always be remembered as wife, mom, grandma, grandma-great and a friend. She was dearly loved and will be sorely missed. In lieu of funeral services, there will be a celebration of her life at the family home in Mesa, AZ on March 12, 2011 from 1PM to 4PM. During this difficult time, we would like to extend our thanks to the caring staff of Banner Desert Medical Center, Plaza Healthcare and Hospice of the Valley. The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude and thanks to all who have help out during this difficult period.
