Katy Zapata Obituary
Katy, of Phoenix, beloved wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Tia & Friend passed away March 6, 2011. She was born in Hayden, AZ to Jose and Carmen Romero and was from a large family of 12 children. She was the Pianist at Primera Iglesia Metodista Unida and First Hispanic Baptist Church for more than 50 years. She loved serving the Church Community with her music. She is preceded in death by her husband, Basilio Zapata, her parents, 5 of her Sisters and 1 Brother. She is survived by her daughter Sharon, Grandson Marcus, Sister Artemisa Contreras, Brothers, Frank (Cruz), Walter, Billy (Yolanda), Bobby (Betty) and Joey as well as many nieces, nephews and dear friends. She will be deeply missed by all who knew
and loved her. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 12, at 1:00PM at Greenwood Serenity Chapel 719 N. 27th Ave., Phoenix Additional information at GreenwoodMemoryLawn.com

Our tia Katy will be missed so much.Our prayers and condolences go to all the family. She is so special to us and holds a honored place in our hearts. We were so blessed that Katy played the piano for our wedding.

I want to express my condolences to you, your son & all your family in the passing of your Mom.
My memories of your mom and the trio(Las Joyas Del Rey) has always been in my heart, They sang beautiful and my Mother (Laurie) playing piano.
I am sure your Mom & my Mom are both playing piano together for the Lord in Heaven.
