Stodghill, Doris Mae
Doris Mae "Cookie" Stodghill 1940 - 2011. 71, of Pine, passed away Feb. 18 in Payson. She was born Feb. 12, 1940 in Galveston, Texas. She came to Arizona as a young girl in 1942. She was raised in Phoenix, where she went to school at Baltz Elementary and finished high school at Phoenix Union. She married to Stanley Stodghill on Dec. 4, 1956 in Salome, Ariz. She worked at Motorola and Goodyear in the 1960s before moving to Pine in 1971. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Stanley; brother, Don Keith of Payson; sister, Mary Sanganario of Las Vegas, Nev.; 4 children, DeAnn "Dee Dee" Stodghill (John Matlock) of Payson, Donna Randall (Leonard Stoutjesdyk) of Tonto Basin, Travis (Dee Dee) Stodghill of Pine and Darla (Steve) McDowell of Pine; 8 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Steven Doyle McDowell. Services have been held. Donations may be made in Mrs. Stodghill's name to Hospice Compassus, 511 S. Mud Springs Rd., Payson, AZ 85541.
