Max Durfee Obituary
82, of Phoenix passed away on March 1, 2011. Max was born in Pueblo, CO on 5/31/1928. He and his family moved to the valley when he was a young boy. Max served in the Navy on the battleship Mississippi during WWII as a Radarman 3d. Max was a lifelong outdoorsman and hunter. He was one of the founders of the Arizona Desert Bighorn Sheep Society. Max is survived by his son, Greg Durfee (Louise), daughter, Debbie Bacon (Bob) and sister, Nyla Webber (Ray), 3 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Margaret, son Gary Durfee and brother Kent Durfee. The family will have a private memorial service. Contributions may be made to "Hospice of the Valley" or a charity of your choice in lieu of flowers.

Max was one of my Dad's best friends; in the early years Max would often visit our house in Lehi and he and my Dadsp ent many a hunting trip together. I have great memories of fishing trips to lake Roosevelt with them and a couple of their tile buddies. It's sad that men like these just aren't around any more. God bless them all.
