Barbara Lunsford Obituary

Lunsford, Barbara Jean (nee Wiggett)
On March 11, 2011, Barbara Jean Lunsford, one of our best earthly caregivers, was called by the angels to join our heavenly father as one of his caregiver angels in heaven. Barbara was everyone's caregiver, from her husband, Bill, to her parents, Jack & Gladys, to friends, Marion and Carolyn, and to so many others, she was always there when needed. Caregiving and giving were her true callings in life and she was the best. Born July 11, 1931, Barbara was an outstanding parent and grandparent, always loving, teaching, and giving of herself. She was an avid bowler for 50 years, ever thrilled when winning one of her local "pots". She was also an outstanding cook; avid movie watcher, and old movie trivia buff. But mostly she was about her children and grandchildren. Barbara will be greatly missed by K.W. "Bill" Lunsford, her husband of 61 years; her sons Jack Lunsford (Anna) of Phoenix, and James Lunsford (Debbie) of Oak Park, Ill.; her granddaughters, Celena Quist (Erin) of Oklahoma City; Amber Lunsford Botamer (Charles) of Surprise, AZ; and twins, Erin and Kelsey Lunsford (Phoenix); by her grandson, Ben (Oak Park); by her great-grand twins, Jaxon and Charlize; and nieces and nephews. In heaven Barbara will join the waiting arms of her parents, John J. and Gladys Wiggett, her brother Jack J. Wiggett, and her daughter, Kathleen Ann Lunsford, and so many friends. Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 15 from 5-7pm, at Green Acres Mortuary, 401 N. Hayden Rd., Scottsdale. A celebration of life will be held at 2:30pm, Wednesday, March 16, 2011, at Green Acres with interment immediately following. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of the Valley, whose team was so wonderful to Barbara and the family in her final days. Arrangements by Green Acres Mortuary. We love our Barb, Mom, Gramma, and Grammy.
