Stephen Morgan Obituary

Morgan, Stephen W. (Winfield)
67. Steve died suddenly March 8 2011. "Gorilla" was a big man with a big heart. He was dearly loved by all those he leaves behind. He is deeply missed by his wife, Cynthia, three daughters, Kristina, Stephanie, and Stacy, stepdaughters September and Patricia and 9 grandchildren Brandon, Decker, Jake, Morgan, Kimberly, Charlie,Tallie, Miranda, Kurtis; brothers Jack & Bill and nieces Allison and Katie. A truly generous, affable and kind man, he was well liked and made fast friends of everyone he met. Born in Milwaukee, his family moved to Phx. soon after as his father Jack Morgan was an agent with the FBI. Played football and graduated Camelback H.S., then attended U of A where he was a Member Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity. He later transferred to ASU and colonized the fraternity there. After college he rode rodeo till he won a silver buckle, and played football, briefly, for the New York Jets with Joe Nameth, the year of the "Heidi Game", but injuries did not allow him to play in Super Bowl in 1969, the only year they won, and his football career was cut short. Semi conductors called and he became a Vice President of Motorola, then NCR. Business took him all over the world, from Russia to Israel, but he loved Phoenix, truly his favorite place on Earth. Services held 3:00 PM Monday March 14 at Province 20942 N. Province Parkway Maricopa, AZ 85138. 520-568-8315 Contributions in lieu of flowers to the Steve Morgan Memorial Fund c/o Wells Fargo directly or to the AZ Heart Institute.
