Miller, Elise
86, of Sun City, Arizona passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 12, 2011. Born in Nebraska on June 7, 1924, to Dayton Rudd and Retta Meeker, Elise married her sweetheart Joy on March 6, 1941. Joy passed away in 2000, and he was dearly missed by Elise in the years since. Elise worked with Joy in the local office of Kansas-Nebraska Gas Company in Oshkosh, Nebraska. They moved to Phoenix in 1972, and Elise worked for many years as an aide at Simpson and Westwood elementary schools. In 1998, Elise and Joy moved to Sun City where Elise was an active member of the Early Belles Bowling League, as well as the Red Hats. Elise loved to travel, and regularly visited her relatives and friends all across the country. Elise is survived by her daughters, Beverly Helm and Bonnie Mirick, granddaughters Brenda Transier and Kathi Amrhein, great-grandchildren Kenneth Transier, Sarah Transier, Spencer Transier, Nathan Amrhein and Samantha Amrhein, and by her sister Venus Trump. Elise was preceded in death by her brother, Elgin Rudd. Services will be held Saturday, March 19, at 2:30 pm at Chapel of the Chimes, 7924 North 59th Avenue, Glendale, AZ. Elise successfully battled cancer four times. In lieu of flowers, please consider a generous donation to the American Cancer Society.
