January 3, 2013

To the family of Mark Wells,
Today on this Memorial day I stop to think of all of you and Mark. My son, Colton, was with Mark on this final mission. It is a day that he and I both remember, and will never forget. Mark will always be a hero in his eyes, and someone he will always remember fondly. Although I never had the opportunity to met him as Colton did, I know from what he told me about Mark, that he was an amazing man, who loved his family very much. Today we will honor his memory and vow to "never forget" all that he gave. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

I never knew this beautiful young man; as a mother, my heart breaks for his family. I am sad, I am sorry for our loss of a wonderful American, and in his honor I want to give back by remembering our Veterans and taking supplies, and food to the 50 homeless Veterans who are living at the YWCA 755 East Willetta and giving thanks in that small way to remember Mark and all the fallen. God's Speed Mark, and prayers for your family.

Dear Family,

Please allow my husband and I to express our sincerest condolences. We know it is never easy to lose someone to death. Humans were not designed to die, please be comforted that death will soon be done away with in the near future. (Isaiah 25:8) Keep the hope alive that Mark is in the memory of Almighty God, and you will be able to see him soon and welcome him back from the dead, and enjoy life forever. Love all of yours unconditionally, live for the treasures of today, and laugh remembering all the good times Mark has left to you.

To the Wells family,

I know there are no words to say at this time, except how sorry that I am. I truly feel your loss and pain. My thoughts and prayers are with you always. Mark will never be forgotten.

For you every single soldier
Those who served so honorable
Your life was forever altered
While I’m home safe and free
I stand with grateful admiration
I stand respectful and so proud
I know I’m only a civilian
And I don’t even know if it’s allowed

But I salute you; allow me the honor
to salute you with permission let me say
Even though I hold no rank know that from my heart
My humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.
I salute you.

For those missing in action;
for those who didn’t make it home.
I know you’re in God’s presence you are not alone.
For every neatly folded flag;
for every shattered family
I will do the only thing I know to dignify your memory.

I salute you, allow me the honor
to salute you with permission let me say
even though I hold no rank know that from my heart
my humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.

I salute you .

I Salute You.

To Mark’s family.

Over the years we have heard so much about Mark from my Aunt Edna (Mark’s grandmother). She would tell us about him playing the bagpipes and more. She talked a lot about her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren during our visits with her. We am very sorry to learn of Mark's death.

We have been thinking a lot about all of you today. Our love and prayers are with all of you.

The Wells are not just friends, but a part of a family we have created over the past 2 years. My husband was lucky enough to deploy with Mark as a Tech, & I've been blessed to call Danielle my friend. The loss of Mark has forever impacted my family and going forward I promise Mark will never be forgotten. He was a family man, and when he looked at Danielle, you just knew he was put on Earth for her. He was a patient father, and very proud of his son. He was also a cooking connoisseur and renaissance man who successfully fused class with cool. He will forever live on in his children.

It is soldiers like Mark that make me proud to be an American.

I cannot begin to tell you how much it hurts that your family has to cope with such a tragic and devastating loss. You raised a good man, who made the ultimate sacrifice for those of us who are less brave, less able. I send many prayers for strength as you begin this journey of healing, and hope that you can still hold the absolute pride that you should for bringing such a brave soul to this world who showed us what true unselfishness is. Love and peace to you both, and anything you need, anything at all, you know where to find me.
