Lois Maples Obituary

Maples Osburn, Lois Geraldine,
84, of Maricopa AZ, formerly of Vinita OK, died Sunday, March 13, 2011. Funeral services will be held in Vinita, OK. Mrs. Maples was born July 19, 1926, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, to Charlie Leonard Howard Osburn and Ruth Hazel McGee Osburn. She was raised on the family farm east of Vinita, Oklahoma. She attended school in Cleora, OK graduating as Valedictorian. She was married to Allen Lee Maples on August 10, 1947, in Bartleville, OK by Rev. U.S. Grant in a double ring ceremony. She was devoted to God, her husband, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, & her brothers & sisters. She lived in Borger, Texas & Vinita, Oklahoma for many years prior to moving to Maricopa in 2007. She was a Licensed Vocational Nurse while in Borger. She loved fishing, bowling and golfing. In fact she made a hole-in-one at Phillips Country Club in Borger, Texas. She was a longtime member of the Assemblies of God. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Eddie Lee Maples; brothers, Ralph Merle, William Thomas, & Leland Charles Osburn. Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Allen Lee Maples and daughter Allene Maples of Maricopa, AZ; a son, Brad Maples (Sharon) of Panhandle, Texas; grandchildren: Autumn Muir (Scot), Steven Billington, Stefanie Billington, Heather Smith (Jackie), Whitney Rogers (Kime); great grandchildren: Christopher, Maya, Mason, Tucker and Taylor; sisters: Lucille Tolbert, Loy Mae Brown, Marilyn Horn; one brother Glenn Osburn (Ann); sister-in-laws: Betty & Shirley Osburn, Wanda Althouse, & a host of nieces & nephews. The family would like to thank Hospice Family Care for their care and support.
