Trout, Martin A.
A memorial service will be held, Friday, March 18, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. for Martin A. Trout, 79, who passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2011. Rev. Glenn Zorb will conduct the service at Mountain View Lutheran Church, 11002 S. 48th Street, Phoenix, AZ. Marty was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He served in the United States Army in Germany, during the Korean War. He retired from Iowa-Illinois Gas and Electric Company as Customer Service Supervisor after 44 years of service and resided in Ahwatukee for 17 years. Marty was an accomplished silver jewelry and lapidary artisan and was active in the ARC Jewelry Crafters club at the Ahwatukee Recreation Center. Survivors include his wife of 56yrs, Barbara L. Trout, two daughters, Christy Trout (Jim) Womack of New Orleans, Louisiana and Diane Trout Overstreet of Rock Island, Illinois, and grandson Mitchell Overstreet. Marty's son, David M. Trout, predeceased him. The family appreciates the exceptional care provided by Dr. Clayton Polowy and staff, Banner Desert Medical Center Unit 3A, Friendship Village Health Care Facility and Hospice of the Valley. Memorials to Mountain View Lutheran Church, 11002 S. 48th Street, Phoenix, AZ 85044-1795 or Hospice of the Valley, Fund Development, 1510 E. Flower St., Phoenix, AZ 85014.

My wife Jean and I are in the area for a brief time, and I happened to spot Martin's obituary in the paper. I'm sorry to hear of his passing. I enjoyed knowing and working with him when I too worked at IIG&E years ago. He was a good man and it sounds like he was a successful jewelry and lapidary artsan in retirement. My condolences to Barb and the family.
