Elaine Berkowitz Obituary
Of Sun City West, 94, passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning, March 16, 2011 with family at her side. Elaine was born on January 22, 1917 in Cleveland, OH, the oldest of four girls. She was a resident of Sun City West since 1996 and was predeceased by her husband Donald Heller of El Paso, TX and David Berkowitz of Sun City West, AZ. She was an active member and officer of many organizations and clubs such as the California, Mahj, Womens and Oneg Shabbat Clubs in the Sun City area. Elaine helped establish the first Pan Group in the Beardsley Recreation Center and enjoyed playing pan with several groups for many years. Elaine is survived by her four daughters, Philline Laine of Sparks, NV, Sharon (Murray) Lichtenstein of Dallas, TX, Marilyn Neal of Sun City West, AZ and JoAnn (Paul) Fromm of Denton, TX; 10 grandchildren, Kimberly, Mark, Laura, Diana, Nita, Jimmy, Kelly, Blythe, Jennifer and Donald; and 11 great grandchildren. Memorial Services will be held 2:30pm, Sunday, March 27, 2011 at Temple Beth Shalom, 12202 N. 101st Ave, Sun City, AZ.
