James Walton Obituary
of Phoenix, Arizona, passed away on March 3, 2011. Jim was born on August 22, 1935, to Robert and Mary Walton of Holyoke, Massachusetts. Jim was a devoted husband, father, uncle, grandfather, and a friend to many. Jim proudly served for 22 years in the United States Air Force, including a tour in Vietnam. He graduated with honors from Glendale Community College and earned his BS Degree in Political Science from NAU. His love of family, crossword puzzles, lotto scratcher tickets, his sharp mindset and engaging conversations will be dearly missed. He is survived by his wife Sandi, to whom he shared 45 years of marriage, his beautiful daughter Lisa M. Walton, and his wonderful son Robert W. Walton. Jim's surviving siblings are Ruth Phillips of Florida, Joanne Bennett of Massachusetts, Karen Dunn of California, his brothers Bobby Walton of California, Wayne Walton of Massachusetts, and many nieces and nephews. Jim was preceded in death by his mother Mary, father Robert and sister Phyllis McFarland of California. A celebration of his life will be held at Best Funeral Chapel, 9380 W. Peoria Ave on March 22nd at 6pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower St, Phoenix, AZ 85014. Mrs. Walton it so hard to find words of comfort Glen and I are thinking of you often. It is hard to believe that we go back over 40 years. He was a great man to lose but I know the memories that you have had will pull you thru. Love you and miss Glen and Rene Dishmon.

Sandi, my prayers go out to you and Bobby @ Lisa in your time of grief. I am sorry to learn about your lost. My fond memories of growing up with you and around your family. I am sorry threw out the years we lost touch with one another. But i will always remember the times we spent (our families) with the baseball,swimming parties, and bobby making eat whatever he made me in the morning after David and myself spent the night. The times playing Wolf fall- ball, and James supporting us at the ball park, cheering Bobby and David on the field. Harry yelling. These are memories that i can always remember Sandi.

Lisa and Robert, i cannot find the words for your lost. I am deeply sorry. Jim,
I only knew you through the countless stories I heard from your beautiful daughter Lisa which makes me wish I had gotten the chance to know you at least a little. You were a lucky man to have been loved by so many…but a rich man for having the love of Sandi, Lisa and Bobby. I know you will be dearly missed and I hope they keep ‘em cold ‘up in heaven.

Dearest Sandi,Bobbi and Lisa my deepest sympathies to you. Jim was an awesome friend to me and to my kids and I'm only sorry we drifted apart over the years. I know that he gave you Sandi and the kids a very happy lifetime together and I know that his legacy will live on in your heart andin the kids as well as the memories he leaves behind.
