Vickie Bowman Obituary

Bowman, Vickie Lynn (Altenhof)
53, of Phoenix, passed away on March 20, 2011. Vickie was born on November 28, 1957, in Tucson, and lived in Arizona her entire life. She attended Faith Lutheran School through 8th grade and graduated from Tucson High School as the valedictorian of the class of 1975. She attended Arizona State University, where she graduated with an Accounting degree in 1979. She worked as a CPA for Coopers and Lybrand and Callahan Mining Corporation before her long-term struggles with multiple sclerosis forced her to stop working in 1990. Vickie was a person of great faith, strong character, and gentle spirit. She was an inspiration to many and will be sorely missed. She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Randy Bowman; her sons Alex Bowman (26, of Scottsdale) and Adam Bowman (23, of Tempe); her sister Linda Merkle (of Litchfield Park); and her mother Donna Altenhof (of Tucson). She was predeceased earlier this year by her father William Altenhof (also of Tucson). A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 1, 2011, at All Saints Lutheran Church, 15649 N. 7th St. in Phoenix. In lieu of flowers, donations in Vickie's honor may be made to the National MS Society, 5025 E. Washington Street, Suite 102, Phoenix, AZ 85034-2005. Arrangements by A.L.
