Marliese Freyling Obituary

Freyling, Marliese Elfrieda Kraemer
On March 12, 2011, at 11:40pm, a beautiful, bright light was extinguished when Marliese Elfrieda Kraemer Freyling lost her battle with cancer. Marliese was born February 25, 1938 in Saarbrucken, Germany, to Ewald and Susanna Kraemer. She was orphaned at a young age and went to live with an aunt. While still a teen, she came to Chicago, celebrating her 17th birthday on the ship. She eventually moved to Miami Beach, where she met her future husband, Nick. They became engaged in April 1959 and were married January 26, 1960 in Miami. In June 1960, they moved to St. Petersburg, where their three children were born. In November 1964 they, with their three young children, headed for Phoenix, ultimately settling in Scottsdale. Marliese was a stay-at-home mother for several years, then went to work on 5th Avenue in Scottsdale, finally landing a job in sales at a candle store. This was a turning point in her life. She had found her true calling, at least as far as a vocation was concerned - sales. With the help and guidance of close friends Dan Monachino and Dennis Krueger, Marliese struck out on her own and became a sales representative for personal care, decorative and gift items, a vocation in which she excelled for over 25 years. The people whose products she represented, as well as the customers she sold to, all loved her sense of humor, caring attitude and professionalism. Marliese was predeceased by her Father and Mother, and her sister Trudi. She is survived by her husband Nick of 51 years, son Edward (wife Leigh and children Nicholas, Abigail and Michael), daughter Suzanne, son Glenn (wife Conni), sister Ilsa and several cousins, nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held at the Scottsdale Bible Church Chapel, 7901 E Shea Blvd. on Saturday, April 2, 2011 at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution to the Hospice of the Valley.

Freyling Family,
I remember holidays, and having fun in the pool. I know that Marliese is in a better place and her and mom are having one of those great parties together. I know that in this time of sorrow there comes something great. Your family is in our hearts and prayers and have been for a long time. I know that Marliese will be truly missed but not forgotten. God bless and miss and love you all.

Nick, Suzanne, and the rest of the family, I am fervently praying for our Lord's peace and comfort for you, as well as strength during these hard days.
Marliese and I shared a loving, close, fun friendship 40 years ago. Since then she has held a very warm spot in my heart. Even though it has been several years since I have seen her, I will miss her.
God loves you, and so do I,

You will be dearly missed Omi. Thank you for always welcoming me into your home and making me feel like one of your family. You were sassy and spunky and didn't stand for any nonsense and I will always admire and respect you for that. I'm glad you're at peace and no longer in pain.
