Robert Johnson Obituary

Johnson, Robert L.
81, passed away peacefully after a short illness on March 19, 2011. Bob was born July 8, 1929 in Alamosa, Colorado to Terry and Cora Johnson. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend. He was Vice President of International Engineering for Baxter Laboratories and made over 100 trips around the world for his job. He served in the Army during the Korean War. He was a licensed pilot and enjoyed flying his own plane. His laughter and sense of humor will be missed by his family and many friends. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Alice; three children daughter Candy (Rob) Columbia of Bradenton, FL, sons Mark (Melissa) Johnson of Arlington, TX and Lance (Debi) Johnson of Beach Park, IL.; eight grandchildren, Allison (Kevin) Irons, Kristen (Angel) Ortiz, Lindsey, Taylor, Ryan, Steven and Brett Johnson and Aaron Milks; three great-grandchildren, Jada Ortiz and Mason and Kinley Irons and one brother, Terry (Jane) Johnson of Durham, NC. A memorial service will be held Thursday, March 24, 2011 at 1:00pm at Messinger Pinnacle Peak Mortuary, 8555 E. Pinnacle Peak Road, Scottsdale. Arizona. Contributions can be made to the Living Water Lutheran Church, Hospice of the Valley or your favorite charity.

Dear Alice and Family,
My deepest sympathy and prayer are with you at this time of great sorrow. I was "Mr. Johnson's" secretary for five years at Baxter Laboratories in Morton Grove, IL. He was a man of great compassion. He had an extraordinary sense of humor. It was an honor to work for him.
