In My Pocket

I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.

My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.

They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.

Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.

But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.

Randy, We've known each other since I was little and you were my brother Sonny's good buddy who lived across the street on Latham in the old neighborhood. I will always remember your funny grin when you would look at me. We never spoke to each other much but I always knew down deep inside you were a good person with a good heart. I will miss not seeing you at my brother's parties grinning at me but then I know you'll be there in spirit. In my mind, I can see you now young and healthy, in your faded jeans and white tee shirt and tennis like I used to see you then, grinning. I know I will see you that way again. Out of all my brothers friends, I liked you the best.

Peace and Love to you and your family now and always,

Sandra "Gonzales" Long

I have known Randy since we were 12 yrs old and he was such a shy young boy. As we got older and into high school many times I would be watering plants out my home and he would drive by when he was going home and he would stop and we enjoyed our conversations, as time went on I grew older and did not see him much. Several years later a blessing came my way with the thanks of Randy. He always thought of taking care of others, especially his best friend Sonny. He was able to bring us back together. I am blessed with the most wonderful husband. Randy if it wasn't for you, life would be different.I know you truly loved your Savior and now you are by his side. How lucky you are..but we miss you so.. All of his children we are here to support you when you need us. Just knowing that we will still have our friend through the eyes of his children. Lisa what a blessed woman you are..we love all of you

Each morning when I wake up as soon as my feet touch the floor I say a payer. It’s a simple little payer .Thank you God for thinking of me I’m alive and doing fine. When I heard of Randy being sick I added him to my payer and said please take care of Randy.
Randy and I go back 20 some years and in all that time I can’t remember him ever saying a bad word about someone or saying no if someone asked him for help. He was always in good sprit and a smile on his face, loved to keep busy, working with hands, always making or fixing something. I believe God looked at Randy and said yes, Randy its time for you to come home. Randy’s suffering is over, ours is just beginning. We will miss Randy . But each of us in our own way will carry a bit of him in our hearts.

I found this prayer and would like to pass it on to everyone.

I asked God for water and He gave me an ocean
I asked God for a flower and He gave a garden
I asked God for a friend, He gave me all of YOU
I f God brings you to it He will bring you through it

Happy moments, praise God
Difficult moments, seek God
Quite moments, worship God
Painful moments, trust God
Every moment, thank God

Had lunch with him a few times while doing stuff at the 91st admin building; somewhat quite but did his work professionally, and always was friendly. He was always willing to answer questions about fix-up jobs I ask about. He will be missed.
May the family receive blessings and encouragement from the God, who gives love, peace, comfort, and hope.

I met Randy many, many years ago while playing co-ed softball. As a result of this sport, our families became friends and our children grew up together.

May God bless the Leon family in this time of sorrow.

Randy you were and will always be a great friend. You taught and showed me so much of your skills, tile, plumbing, frameing and most of all how to be a better man. I will never forget all the good times we had at the ASU games. My thoughts and prayers will be with you and your family forever. Say hi to Patrick for me and yes I felt the pinch. When we both worked for the City of Phoenx, Randy was always there with a helping hand and a frienldy smile as he helped us with various problems in our laboratory. He was always a delight to be around since he was a very kind hearted man. He will be missed.

We pray that his family and friends will be encouraged knowing others care for their loss.

May our God and Creator comfort those who are mourning at this time and give each person strength, hope and encouragement in the weeks, months and years ahead.

Much love and concern,
Joe

I met Randy in August 1996 when I started to work with the City of Phoenix. He was always smiling and always friendly. I learned a lot from his experience with working on wood projects around my house. He would always take a few minutes to tell me how to do something that would my project easier.
I will surely miss your smiling face my friend. Keep a light on, Randy...I'll see you in Glory some day.

Randy is my best friend and my brother in life. He helped so many people better their lives by giving so much of his time with never asking for anything in return but friendship. He was truly an angel in the flesh on this earth. I love and miss him and look forward to seeing him again in our Fathers House where we can again laugh, fish, and enjoy each others company forever. I love you buddy, save a place for me and l leave some for me to catch. Your lifetime buddy and friend, Sonny
