Harry Olsen Obituary
passed away on March 12, 2011. H.J. "Buzz" Olsen was born January 8, 1938 in Donnelly MN. The beloved dad, grandpa, brother, uncle and friend is survived by his three children Mark, Mike and Connie (Chris), his seven grandchildren Dan, Jessie, Jennifer, Houston, Kristin, Lindsay and Carly, his sister Mary Olsen Dripps and five nieces and nephews. A ceremony celebrating Buzz's life will be held on April 2, 2011 in the home of his daughter in Glendale, AZ. The family requests any condolence donations be made to The American Cancer Society 4550 E. Bell Rd. Here's a much belated tribute to Buzz "Buzzy" Olsen... and my condolences to his 3 children, and grandkids.
I had the pleasure to get to know Buzzy (well my Grandpa and Grandma Olsen always called him "Buzzy") by several meetings in Minnesota, starting with my Grandma Olsen's funeral that he attended in St. Paul with his sister, Mary in 1998.
As a kid I heard a lot about Buzz and family; my grandparents liked him a lot and delighted in receiving the news of Buzz's family. My grandma stayed in touch with Buzzy's wife (Pat I think) by writing letters, and so i was regularly brought up to date on the Buzz Olsen family's milestones through all the formative years.
Later got to meet Buzzy in person, and really enjoyed getting to know him a bit. A twinkle in his eye and he seemed to love a ribald joke or two. My sense is that he was living a very full life, and I loved how he resembled my Grandpa Thorval (his Olsen uncle).
I hope to have the chance to get acquainted with Buzz's 3 kids before too long.
RIP Buzzy and all my best for you and your family.
