Jo Palmer-Butler Obituary

Palmer-Butler, Jo Ann
Jo Ann P. Butler passed away peacefully, at age 83, on March 21, 2011. She succumbed to COPD at her home surrounded by family members. She was born August 16, 1927 to Albert and Emma Sauter. After graduating from Cut Bank Montana High School in 1945, she attended the University of Montana where she succumbed to love at first sight and married Jack Palmer in 1949. They had four children. In 1963 the family moved from Lewistown, Montana to Scottsdale, Arizona. In 1965 Jo Ann completed her education degree and then taught at Hopi School in Phoenix until she retired in 1987. She married William J. Butler in 1986 but was widowed in 1990. She is survived by her four children, David Palmer, Debbie Dodson (husband Mike), Steve Palmer (wife Gayle), Albie Palmer and 3 grandchildren. She was always an active and energetic person with a passion for life and people. She performed volunteer work throughout her life ranging from service as a Girl Scout leader to serving dinners at a local homeless shelter recently. She was always ready to help a friend, give a party, play golf, travel and work in her garden. A memorial service will be held at Messinger Mortuary, 7601 E. Indian School Road, Scottsdale, at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, March 25, 2011. A reception will follow at her home. In lieu of flowers she has requested that friends
make a donation to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital ( stjude.org, Tribute #28045419) or the charity of your choice.

Hello Debbie and Mike - Blessings to you all during this time of transition. Linda DeWitt Palass passed this along to me. We recently had a 40+2 SHS reunion and you and your family were spoken of with fondness and happiness. Please let me know if there is anything any of us can do for you now.
